About
My name is Glory Moonfire and I am a visionary, a connector, an artist, and a ritualist based in Oakland, CA.
My soul’s work lives on the bridge between spirit and underworld. In the physical world, this manifests as community-building, art-making, and intuiting to bring healing qualities to the present moment. As a rope top and a guide, I support people to access the depths of the body, emotions, and subconscious with safety and containment.
You are your own healer. My work is to create beauty, share compassion, and shine light on the hidden parts that seek to be transformed by love.
Rope is Sacred
Rope is a part of my ancestral lineage. My grandmother has direct experience of suffering through bondage when her village was overtaken by soldiers. The journey I took in 2023 to accept the power of rope for both destruction and healing required a level of spiritual fortitude I had never encountered before. In my dreams, I re-lived my grandmother’s pain. In my waking life, I had to make a choice to hold the responsibility of this tool and wield it for good.
As such, rope bondage is often a sacred practice for me. I hold deep reverence for all the ways in which people have built a lively culture around rope, including the kinky woodblock prints and photography of Japan, the LGBTQ+ movement, and underground kink communities. It is important to me to have high standards of integrity through this practice, and it is my honor to carry it forth into future generations as a catalyst for empowerment.
My Approach
My approach to rope bondage is feminine, intuitive, and transpersonal. I listen for the truth in the body and congruence in words. By tapping into intuition, I connect with spirit to bring light to the emotions and shadows that arise in the rope container. By de-mystifying rope, I hope to make accessible the healing potential of exploring the personal and collective unconscious in kink.
My work is trauma-informed and inspired by a variety of modalities:
Relational arts practices: authentic relating, circling, non-violent communication, community living
Psychotherapy modalities: Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Hakomi, Art Therapy, and humanistic and depth psychology
Dance and movement practices: contact improvisation, ecstatic dance, and fusion partner dance
Spiritual practices and intuitive arts: Andean shamanism; meditation and energy healing practices with Wendy DeRosa, Caroline Myss, Zahava Griss; and Audrey and Maria from North Loft Yoga in Chicago.
With me, your whole Self is welcome: your fears, your edges, your desires, and your longing for intimacy.
